Logistics Operations Manager (m/f/d) with a Focus on Hazardous Materials and Contract Logistics

At our facility in Frankfurt am Main, GADOT Germany GmbH—headquartered in Düsseldorf—operates a modern high-bay warehouse for the safe handling and storage of hazardous materials, with a capacity of approximately 22,000 pallet spaces. From there, we handle both direct production supply and the worldwide shipment of hazardous materials by road, rail, and sea.

To strengthen our team and ensure that we maintain our high quality and safety standards over the long term, we are seeking a proactive, assertive, and customer-focused individual for our logistics site in Frankfurt—which specializes in hazardous materials and contract logistics—to start as soon as possible in the role of:

At the Location:

Frankfurt am Main

Your Tasks:

  • Operational Management: You will have overall operational responsibility for ensuring that all logistics processes at our site run safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively.
  • Leadership & Motivation: You lead, motivate, and develop your operational team directly on the shop floor and exemplify a hands-on approach.
  • Customer Support & Service Excellence: You will maintain regular operational communication with our customers and serve as the primary point of contact for all location-related matters. In addition, you will work with Key Account Management to further develop operational SLAs and SOPs and ensure compliance with them.
  • Safety & Compliance (HSE): Compliance with legal regulations and internal safety and environmental standards is your top priority. You work closely with the hazardous materials and occupational safety officers and actively promote a culture of safety in the workplace.
  • Process Optimization: You analyze existing workflows, identify bottlenecks, and continuously optimize warehouse processes in terms of efficiency, quality, and workplace safety.

Requirements:

We’re not looking for a purely theoretical strategist, but rather a strong leader with a “can-do” attitude and a strong focus on the customer.

  • Leadership: You know how to motivate employees, delegate responsibility, and successfully implement changes together with your team.
  • Solid Education: A successfully completed degree in logistics or supply chain management, advanced training leading to a master craftsman certification or a degree in business administration with a focus on logistics, or a comparable qualification with relevant professional experience.
  • Experience in the field of hazardous materials: Several years of leadership experience in an operational logistics role, preferably in the field of hazardous materials, and a thorough understanding of relevant laws and regulations.
  • Operational Strength: You are characterized by a strong hands-on approach. You love shaping processes directly on-site and solving problems pragmatically.
  • Communication Skills: You have a confident, professional demeanor and demonstrate assertiveness and empathy when interacting with employees and customers.
  • Analytical Thinking & IT Skills: Proficiency in using common warehouse management systems (WMS) and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Language skills: Fluent German and a good command of English for communicating with customers.
